Children participate in contest on environment

As many as 100 children from different schools participated in the painting, essay writing, elocution and singing competitions on the theme ‘Fight against illegal trade in wildlife’, organised by the AP Pollution Control Board (APPCB), here on Thursday.

The children expressed their views on ecological balances, when wildlife is not protected. Experts from various fields participated as judges for the competitions. The winners would be intimated on June 3, according to Joint Chief Environmental Engineer B. Madhusudhana Rao. There will be three prizes in each event and they would be distributed to the winners at the function to be held on World Environment Day at Dr. YVS Murthy Auditorium in Andhra University Engineering College Grounds on June 5.
